The Integrated Petroleum Environmental Consortium (IPEC) is a consortium of the University of Tulsa, the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
Funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Office of Research and Development, the mission of IPEC is to increase the competitiveness of the domestic petroleum industry
through a reduction in the costs of compliance with U.S. environmental regulations.
Specifically, IPEC is
- Developing cost effective technologies to meet the challenges of environmental
regulations to the competitiveness of the domestic petroleum industry.
- Training environmental professionals as an investment in technology and policy
development.
- Disseminating information regarding technology development and legal and regulatory
issues which can impact the competitiveness of the domestic petroleum industry.
